Description	:	Lucille Antonia Murphy Lucille was born November 9, 1921 in Flaxville, Montana and died on March 27, 2012 in Shelton, Washington at ninety years. She was one of seven children born to Leo and Antoinette (Savegeau) Cossette. Read More	Lucille Antonia Murphy Lucille was born November 9, 1921 in Flaxville, Montana and died on March 27, 2012 in Shelton, Washington at ninety years. She was one of seven children born to Leo and Antoinette (Savegeau) Cossette. After her mother's early death in 1925 she was raised, with her sister Leone, by her aunt and uncle in Medora, ND, where she took to riding and cowgirl life on the ranch of her uncle, Jay Eaton. After returning to Flaxville and graduating from high school, Lucille moved with her sister, Kathleen, to Spokane, WA, to attend Business College. She met another high plains émigré, Paul Joseph Murphy and they were married in Seattle, WA in 1951 and settled in Olympia, WA, where Paul began his career as an attorney. They raised two sons in Olympia, Joseph and Paul. Following Paul's retirement from the Attorney General's Office in 1977, Paul and Lucille relocated to Harstene Island, where they found their happiest days as active members of the Harstene community. Lucille maintained an active life as a member of St. Edward's parish in Shelton, WA and as a volunteer for the Mason County Food Bank. Her hobbies included playing the organ, bridge, golfing and traveling the U.S. A life long learner, until slowed by age, she was always reading and asking questions of life. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Richard Murphy (Ann Garfield) Orcas Island and Paul Jay Murphy (Laura Koerber) Harstene Island; grandsons, Miles Patrick Murphy, Tacoma and Evan Joseph Murphy, East Sound, WA; sister, Kathleen Barnett, Mercer Island; numerous nieces and nephews. Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, son, Thomas Edward Murphy, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Memorial donations can be made to Saint's Pantry, 214 S.2nd St, Shelton, WA, St. Edwards Catholic Church, 601 W."C" St, Shelton, WA or Adopt-A-Pet of Mason County, 940 E. Jensen Rd, Shelton, 98584. A memorial service will be held at St. Edward's Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 12:00 noon. Arrangements are under the direction of McComb Funeral Home, Shelton, WA.
