Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in Screven Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Wayne Ellis. Burial, directed by Graham Funeral Home, will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. She was born October 13, 1924 in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Calvin Herbert Benton and Eunice Inez Poston Benton. She was born October 13, 1924 in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Calvin Herbert Benton and Eunice Inez Poston Benton. Mrs. Mitchum was a member of Screven Baptist Church who held a deep religious faith and dedication to her church. She retired from the Added Touch Clothing Store in Georgetown and was a Sunday School Teacher for over 45 years. She was part of the Real Women Workers in WWII and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are; two sons, Craig Mitchum and his wife Cathy of Pawleys Island and J. Terrell Mitchum of Georgetown; a daughter in law, Doris D. Mitchum of Georgetown; five grandchildren, David Mitchum of Seneca, Anthony Mitchum and his wife Tina of Collegeville, Pennsylvania, Robin Hancock and her husband Paul of Georgetown, Deanna M. Pope and her husband Jeremy of Pawleys Island and Micah Singleton and his wife Marilyn of Myrtle Beach; six great-grandchildren, Keith and Kaylee Hancock both of Georgetown, Savannah and Jentry Mitchum both of Collegeville, Pennsylvania and Rebecca and Jeremiah Singleton both of Myrtle Beach; four sisters, Edie McConnell and Christine Floyd both of Andrews, Leila Hodge of Savannah, Georgia and Elma Jimes of Florence; a special cousin, Jeanette Gamble of Pawleys Island and a number of nieces and nephews.
