Description	:	LuCille Carruth, 89, of Arvada, CO, formerly Watertown, SD, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at a care center in Arvada. She was the widow of Ernst J. Hellbusch and Lester "Connie" Carruth. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Watertown. Rev. Roger Spahr will officiate. Music will be provided by Elaine Vanderlaan as pianist with Jill Stevenson as soloist. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown. Visitation will be at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and prior to services at the church on Tuesday. LuCille was born December 8, 1923, at Watertown, SD, to Harm and Dora (Krull) Brower. She attended Foley School near Watertown for seven years and then moved into Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School in 1941. LuCille attended Northern Normal School in Aberdeen, SD, for summer school to obtain her teaching certificate. In February 1943, LuCille married Ernst J. Hellbusch. She taught rural school near Lake Poinsett while Ernst was overseas in WWII. When Ernst returned from the service, the couple moved to Castlewood, SD, where they lived for five years, running a Mobil Oil service station, and then to Watertown. LuCille worked at O.P. Skaggs for 10 years and then in the drapery department at Davey's Furniture Store from 1962 until they closed. LuCille was especially proud of making the draperies for the SD governor's mansion during the term of Frank Farrar. Ernst passed away in 1970. LuCille married Lester "Connie" Carruth on September 23, 1972. Lester and LuCille continued to live in Watertown. Lester passed away in 1993. LuCille continued to work as a drapery seamstress, until she moved to Colorado in 2005 to be nearer her daughter. She was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, U.C.T. and V.F.W. Auxiliary. LuCille loved to sew, read, play cards and make pies. She had regular lunch dates with her former high school classmates, "the Class of '41." LuCille is survived by one daughter, Veronica (George) Sikula, Littleton, CO; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Merle (Judy) Brower, and one sister, Arlene (Elmer) Keller, all of Watertown, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and one brother, Bill Brower.
