Lucille "Cindy" Constance Liesinger was born in December of 1926 at home near Hartford, SD, to Harry & Juliette (Kolaas) Liesinger. C indy went to country grade schools. She was baptized and confirmed at West Wall Lake Zion Lutheran church. Cindy graduated from High School in Humboldt, SD, in 1944. She worked at Montgomery Ward and worked in several homes as a nanny before getting married in 1948 to Elwood Boy. Cindy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was active as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, held offices in E.L.C.W., the American Legion Auxiliary in Hartford, and the Cinderella Extension Club. After working together farming, she also worked at K-Mart West in Sioux Falls from 1985, retiring in 1998. She wrote news for the local Wall Lake and Harford Area newspaper for over 25 years. Cindy enjoyed working in the garden and yard, and watching the Twins play baseball. In 2018 she traveled to Minneapolis to watch a live Twins game. She embroidered a set of 7 dishtowels, one set for each granddaughter. Cindy enjoyed Yahtzee, jig saw puzzles and Bingo where she was good at winning! She loved spending time and Holidays with her daughters, granddaughters, and great grandchildren. One of her favorite traditions was making roll-out sugar cookies with the families. Survivors include her two daughters, Jacki (Jim) DeJong of Sioux Falls, and Jeri (Lee) Jordan of rural Hartford; seven granddaughters, Tami (Bill) Heldt, Jamie (John) Monette, Cari Klinghagen, Amy (Dylan) Troske, Jill (Brad) Tille, Kristin DeJong and special friend Neil Odland, Natalie (Jimmy) Schad; and 16 great grandchildren; one brother, Ted Liesinger, two sisters, Barbara Josten and Phyllis Poppen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woody, parents; two brothers, Walter Liesinger and his wife Bonnie, Russell Liesinger and his wife Amy; two sisters, Ardys Tweed and her husband Curtis, Molly Stensaas and her husband Albert; her brothers-in-law Joseph Josten, John Poppen, Ed Gebhart; sister-in-law Betty Liesinger; nieces Peggy Ritter and Marjorie Gebhart. - Miller Funeral Home
