Description	:	Lucille E. Larson Vick was born October 24, 1921 in Sinai, South Dakota to Lewis and Petra (Gunderson) Larson. She received her education in Sinai and was a graduate of the Sinai High School in 1939 after which she worked for her father at the Sinai Mercantile Company. Later she worked at the First State Bank of Sinai. Lucille was united in marriage to Boyd Vick on August 10, 1943. Larson Vick was born October 24, 1921 in Sinai, South Dakota to Lewis and Petra (Gunderson) Larson. She received her education in Sinai and was a graduate of the Sinai High School in 1939 after which she worked for her father at the Sinai Mercantile Company. Later she worked at the First State Bank of Sinai. Lucille was united in marriage to Boyd Vick on August 10, 1943. While Boyd was in training for his service in the United State Army Air Corps, Lucille traveled with him for a year to California, Oregon, Nevada and New Mexico. When he was sent overseas, she returned to Sinai to live with her parents. Following Boyd's honorable discharge in 1945, they farmed in Brookings County until their retirement in 1981. Lucille and Boyd then moved into Brookings. During the farming years, Lucille reentered the work force, her first job being at First National Bank of Brookings and at the Community Oil, to help put her children through college. Lucille was always active in Lake Campbell Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday school and Bible school. She was a circle member and sewed many quilt tops for missions. She remained a member until her death. She was also involved in Extension Club, 4-H Club, the Sons of Norway and was a volunteer at the United Retirement Center for 15 years. Her hobbies included quilting, baking, bowling and working on puzzles. She was a woman with a beautiful heart who had immense grace and boundless hospitality. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Arnold; sister, Mildred; her husband of 65 years, Boyd and her son, Curtis. Lucille is survived by her daughters, Donna (Jim) Markusen of Ft. Myers, FL and Susan (Denis) Hofflander of Sioux Falls, SD; one daughter-in-law, Linda Vick of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren, Karen (Matt) Kammann of Parker, CO, Nathan Hofflander and his fiance' Sara Supalla of Sioux Falls, SD, Katie (Brad) Smith of Chicago, IL and Kristin (Dave) Schaaf of DesMoines, IA; four great grandchildren, Thaniel, Luciana, Paul and Ethan and one sister-in-law, Mildred Larson of Salem, SD.
