Brent Beckett. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton, W.Va. She was born July 13, 1920, to Jim and Virgie Cooper, and was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Herbert E. Courts, her parents, son-in-law Rev. John L. Stephens, two sisters, Vivian Cooper Chapman and husband Junior Chapman, Freda Cooper Blake and husband Denny Blake, brother-in-law Russell Blake and sister-in-law Mary Lou Knapp. She was a faithful wife, assisting her husband in his ministry of 30+ years; a good mother, always caring for her children's welfare. Twenty-three years of her life was given to the employ of Morris Memorial Hospital in Milton. She loved learning and you could always see her with a word puzzle book in her hand. Surviving are her sister, Erma Cooper Blake and brother James "Brudd" Cooper of Glenwood, W.Va.; two half brothers, Ivan Knapp and wife Betty of Milton and Denzil Knapp of Valparaiso, Ind.; her children, their spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren; one daughter, Brenda Stephens-Edwards and husband Rev. Alvie Edwards of Lewisburg, W.Va.; two sons, Jerry Thomas Courts and wife Kathy, and Timothy Courts, all of Milton. Her grandchildren are Rhonda Stephens Branham and husband Jerry of Milford, Ohio, Brooke Stephens Higinbotham and husband David of Merritstown, Pa., Heather Courts Tysinger and husband Steven of Clemmons, N.C., Jera Courts Wilmoth and husband Travis of Statesville, N.C., Michael Courts and Ashley, Ethan Wisman all of Milton and Christopher Courts of Ona, W.Va.; great-grandchildren are Isaac Rider and wife Angie of Ashton, W.Va., Riley and Tyler Higinbotham, Caleb Courts, Aubrey Wilmoth, and great- great-grandchildren, Ian Rider and Tiarra Nicholson. The family expresses their deepest appreciation to all the family and friends who have extended their love to Lucille and family. Also they wish to thank Union Baptist Church, of which she was a member, for their support, love and prayers.
