Burial was made in Spring Hill Cemetery, southwest of Dundee. The daughter of Henry and Clora (Letts) Hines, Lucille Hazel was born Sept. 14, 1900, on her parents' farm southeast of Manchester. Shortly thereafter, they moved to a farm north of Dundee where Lucille grew up. She received her formal education in the Forestville country school and later in Dundee. Following the completion of her schooling, she worked in area homes until marriage. She was united in marriage to William Charles Bandy on April 30, 1924, in Manchester. The couple made their home in Dundee all their married life. Their only child, William John, died in October of 1970. A month later, on Nov. 14, her husband died. She became a resident of the Delaware County Memorial Care Center in 1988. She had the distinction of being its last resident before the care center closed. Lucile did housework and helped take care of people. She loved flowers and enjoyed playing with her great-grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Alice Jean Bandy of Manchester; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Vernie Hines, and one sister, Myrtle Lathrop, both of Independence. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son; her husband; one brother, Peter Hines, and her half-sister, Cindy Brandhorst. Shelly Funeral Home of Manchester was in charge of arrangements.
