Mrs. Hartmann was born Lucille Josephine Manning on Sept. 12, 1921, in Clinton to Louis and Blanche (Shawver) Manning. Read More	MAQUOKETA, Iowa — Lucille Josephine Hartmann, 93, of Maquoketa, died surrounded by her family late Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Clover Ridge Place, Maquoketa. Mrs. Hartmann was born Lucille Josephine Manning on Sept. 12, 1921, in Clinton to Louis and Blanche (Shawver) Manning. After graduating from Lyons High School, she got her teaching degree at Mount St. Clare and taught for two years at Low Moor (Iowa) Elementary School. She was united in marriage to Raymond Hartmann on June 6, 1944, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Clinton. The couple resided near Goose Lake, Iowa, where they farmed until 1982 when they moved to Maquoketa. Raymond preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2009. Lucille had been a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt, Iowa, until moving to Maquoketa, where she joined Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. She served as president, vice president and trustee of the LWML. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading, rainbows, crocheting, making ceramics and her sewing circle. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Genie, DeWitt, and Curtis and Diane, Oxford Junction, Iowa; grandchildren, Adam (Andrea), Shari (Carlos), Chris, Abbey, Maggie and Jessica; stepgrandchildren, Jeremy, Caleb and Noah; great-grandchildren, Ava and Abe, Carlitos, Joseph and Kyle; step great-grandchildren, Audrey, Tia, Isaiah, Colie, Talia, Gabe, Greyson; a sister, Fern (Simon) Rasche; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant child, a sister and a brother. Visitation will be 10-10:45 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2015, at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt, with a funeral service following at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church Camp.
