Description	:	Lucille Keller was born Aug. 24, 1910, at Wisner, Nebraska to John and Emma (Wickert) Keller, the middle child of nine children. She grew up in Wisner, attending school in Wisner and graduating from Wisner High School in 1930. She worked for a year prior to attending Grand Island Business College. Upon returning to Wisner she worked for Merlin and Ann Schreiber in their home, at the theater they operated and later at their bank. Lucille also worked at the Wisner News Chronicle. Read More	Lucille Keller was born Aug. 24, 1910, at Wisner, Nebraska to John and Emma (Wickert) Keller, the middle child of nine children. She grew up in Wisner, attending school in Wisner and graduating from Wisner High School in 1930. She worked for a year prior to attending Grand Island Business College. Upon returning to Wisner she worked for Merlin and Ann Schreiber in their home, at the theater they operated and later at their bank. Lucille also worked at the Wisner News Chronicle. On Sept. 28, 1940, she was united in marriage to Ervin (Fritz) Behlers. The couple resided on a farm northeast of Wisner, where she raised chickens, ducks and did a lot of gardening. Lucille also worked at the First National Bank in Wisner, in the bookkeeping department, for 18 years before retiring in 1972. After retirement, Lucille had worked at the Wisner Care Center for several years. Lucille was a member of the United Methodist Church of Christ, its quilters group and for several years also made numerous jars of jelly for its annual bazaar, was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 5767 and the Rebekah Lodge. Lucille exhibited her quilts, canned goods and jellies at county fairs for a number of years, receiving several awards, and also received the Oldest Quilter Award at the Nebraska State Fair as recently as 2008. Survivors include several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great- nieces and great-great-nephews. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ervin in 1971, four brothers, four sisters, two nieces and two nephews.
