Description	:	Lucille and Richard (Lucy and Goosie) maintained and raised a huge garden for her family and for many family members and canned and stored many garden items for the long winters. She milked cows by hand until there were electric milk machines, used a cream separator, made homemade butter, cooked, sewed, baked bread from scratch, grilled, butchered chickens, canned chickens, knew how to use tools for home repairs, and they butchered and wrapped, and smoked their own meats for the year. There was an old crank telephone with a party-line in the home until a private dial phone was installed in the late 1950's. Lucille liked to bowl. She and Terry Martin won 1st in doubles. At nationals in Harvey at the Midway Lanes located in the Coral Lanes, she bowled over 200. She took home a trophy. Lucille and Richard raised registered hogs and registered Angus beef cattle and registered dairy Holsteins (both breeds in the1960's) along with many other farm animals and foul when they moved out to her parent's farm in the early 1950's. Lucille won a trip to Hawaii in 1961 after purchasing a raffle ticket from her Watkins dealer, Mr Clark. When Richard and Lucille flew to Kansas City, KS, there was a pilot strike and they had to fly back to ND. They never got to Hawaii but did receive the remainder of the winnings. Lucille was a past president for the Wells Eagles Auxiliary #3080 in Harvey ND 1985-1986. She and Richard worked and managed the Vets Club and went on to purchase and operate the Pioneer Bar in Harvey ND 1960's. Lucille was a Flagger for Border States Paving Inc, Fargo ND. Lucille was a member of St Cecilia Catholic Church. She loved to fish, loved pansies and peonies, and her favorite color is blue. In May of 2012 Lucille bought a home in Bismarck and has been living there. Lucille was placed on Home Hospice Care of Bismarck on 2021 Feb 19th. She got much better and was taken off Hospice. She got up for breakfast at 8AM on the 9th of Nov, didn't eat and went back to bed. At noon, Janice her caregiver, checked on her and found her cold and dead. Authorities were called in and confirmed that. God bless my Mother.
