Daughter of William John Foley and Jane Perkins OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, December 13, 1923 LUCINDA CAROLINE LINVILLE Lucinda Caroline Foley Linville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Foley, was born Oct. 24, 1852, in Floyd county, Indiana, and departed this life at her home near Russell, Iowa, Dec. 9, 1923, aged 71 years, 2 months and 15 days. When four years old she came with her parents to McDonough county, Illinois. While living there she was converted and at the age of 18 years united with the United Brethren church at New Alliance, Ill. She was united in marriage to Lafayette Linville in McDonough county, and to this union were born four sons, H. E., J. W., J. F., and H. D.; three daughters, Mrs. Maud Brown, Mrs. Florence Jones and Mrs. Ida Guthrie, all living near Russell; 18 grandchildren. Forty-four years ago they came to Wayne county and located on the farm where she resided until death. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, children and grandchildren, also three sisters and a host of friends. She was a kind and affectionate wife and mother and a good neighbor, and will be greatly missed but our loss is Heaven's gain. Funeral services were held at the Confidence church on Tuesday, Dec. 11, conducted by Rev. George J. Cornford, of Chariton, Iowa, followed by interment in the Confidence cemetery.
