Visitation will be Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 3:00 - 5:00pm with a prayer service at 5:00pm all at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Lidgerwood. There will be visitation one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday at the Church. Lucinda Lorraine (Lentz) Funfar was born December 21, 1924, the daughter of Hugo and Emma (Tiegs) Lentz. Lucinda grew up in rural Lidgerwood, ND with her 3 sisters & 3 brothers and attended Duerr #5 School. She was baptized, attended Sunday School and was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lidgerwood. On June 15, 1944, she married Donald Funfar at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Together they raised 5 sons and 1 daughter on a farm in rural Lidgerwood. She was a wonderful mother. During these years, she taught Sunday School and vacation bible school, and was a charter member of Duerr Homemakers. In 1971, they moved in to Lidgerwood. Lucinda worked at Dakota Estates for nearly 20 years. She also volunteered for the American Diabetes Association for many years. Donald passed away in 2000, and a few years later she moved to River Square in Fargo to be closer to her children. In 2014, she moved to Good Samaritan then Elim (both in Fargo). She resided there until she was moved to the hospital to live our her last week. She was always be remembered and live in our hearts. The love, kindness, baked goods she shared will never be forgotten. She loved her family and was an inspiration to many! She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Funfar; parents Hugo and Emma Lentz; brother Marvin Lentz; sister Elvira Walker and daughter in law Peggy.
