Shoemaker, age 101, of Chambers, will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday May 28, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Chambers with burial in the Chambers cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the services at the church on Thursday. She passed away Sunday afternoon, May 24, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in O’Neill. Lucinda was born December 12, 1913 at Chambers, Nebraska to Michael and Katie (Kuscher) Fleek. She was raised in the Chambers community. She graduated from Chambers High School in 1931. Lucinda married Raymond P. Shoemaker on September 19, 1935 at O’Neill, Nebraska; he passed away June 25, 1987. She was an active and faithful member of the Chambers United Methodist Church, having joined the Church in 1928. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and served as treasurer for over 22 years, as well as other offices over the years. Lucinda loved nature so very much and was happiest when she could be out in her yard and garden with her flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond P. Shoemaker, her son, Raymond Gail “Red” Shoemaker, one step-grandson, Joe Hanley, one sister, Mary Wright and one brother, Henry Fleek. Rev.
