Lucinda Margaretha Hulda Wigg was born May 22, 1921, in Goodrich Township, the daughter of Johann and Alma (Hollander) Heide. She received her education in a rural school. She was baptized in Christ on June 22, 1921, and confirmed on April 5, 1936. On Feb. 16, 1941, she was united in marriage to Edward Wigg at the Lutheran parsonage in Denison, Iowa. They were blessed with the birth of four children. The couple made their home on various farms in the Schleswig and Ricketts, Iowa, area. In 1975, they moved to their new home in Schleswig, which they built themselves. On Feb. 16, 2006, the couple were blessed with 65 years of marriage. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Spending time with her family brought her great joy. She especially enjoyed having a garden. She was known for her cooking and baking, especially angel food cakes, fudgens and pies. Other activities she enjoyed included crocheting afghans, dancing and bowling. The couple bowled at the Ricketts Lanes on a mixed couples teams for 28 years. A highlight of her life in bowling happened in 1971, when she picked up a 4-6-7-10 split. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Glenn and Jerrie Wigg of Schleswig and Dale and Bonnie Wigg of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Beverly and Gary Peters of Schleswig; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Luella and Leslie Neubauer of Battle Creek, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward in 2006; a daughter, Gladys Wigg; and a sister and her husband, Eleanor and Milroy Henningsen.
