Read More	Lucretia was the daughter of John J Crouch and Susan Hixson. She married John Wiseman on Jan 11, 1869 in Carroll, Iowa. They were the parents of Mrs Herman Garnatz, Mrs Milford Brooks, and Lillian. Carroll Daily Time Herald - Jan 10, 1931 - Lucretia Bell Crouch was born in Beverly, West Virginia on Mar. 12, 1850 and died in her home in Auburn, on Jan. 2, 1931 at the age of eighty years, nine months, and twenty days. She was about two years old when her family moved to Jasper county, Ia. The following spring the family moved to Marshall county where they resided until 1863 when they moved to Greene county, where her parents operated a hotel at Jefferson until Nov. 1886, when the family moved to Grant City, Ia., The remaining 64 years of her life was spent in Sac county. She was married on Jan. ll, 1869 to John Wiseman at Carroll, Ia. Being the first couple married in that town. About a year later they moved to a farm half mile west of Auburn. To this union were born three daughters, Mrs. Milford Brooks of Okoboji, Iowa, Mrs. Herman Garnatz of Auburn, Miss Lillian Wiseman at home. She is also survived by four grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Jemima Meredith of Graettinger, and Mrs. Henry Thompson of Auburn; three brothers: A.W. Crouch of Creighton, S.D., William Crouch of Garden City, Idaho., and John Crouch of Auburn, and many other relatives and a host of friends who mourn her passing. The family moved Auburn in 1900 where she has resided the last 30 years. The husband died Feb. 2, 1915. She was a member of the Rebekah lodge and a member of the Methodist church at Grant City. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In time of sickness of others you could always depend on Grandma Wiseman to do more than her share regardless of her poor health. Her life may be best described by the following words taken from a letter received by a daughter a short time ago before Grandma Wiseman’s recent illness. "Your mother is such an inspiration to me. She faces every thing so fearlessly and always with a smile; I’m trying to be as brave and fine as she. Most of us complain and cringe, but not she and at her age, it is rare to see one with such poise and fortitude. Her feet are surely planted on the sure foundation and her faith in One who never faileth. I’m so glad to have been with her again.” Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. John Hall, were held Tuesday, Jan. 6
