For five years or... Read More	Lucretia Belle Brubaker widow of Dr. John C. Brubaker, died at her home on the west side of the Shenandoah River, five miles north west of Luray at two o'clock on Monday morning of this week. Born 15 Aug 1862-06 Feb 1922. The announcement of her death was a shock to many friends, causing profound sorrow to all who knew her. She was one of the most highly esteemed women of this county, and her culture and refinement were attribute that made host of friends ony few of whom were aware that her health was not good. For five years or more her health had been declining, though her indomitable will power kept her going about, being unwilling to submit to the admonitions to her friends and relatives that she refrain from such an active life. Her husband died a little more that five years ago. He was a well known physician and farmer residing for years where the death of Mrs. Brubaker ocurred. The family lived for a number of years in Ohio after the marriage of Dr. and Mrs. Brubaker. The latter was a daughter of the late Charles Keyser, who lived for many years in the building now occupied by David A. Kibler, where the deceased was born 69 years ago on the 15th of last August. Her father was one of the early settlers of this county and was the owner of vast real estate on the west side of the river, his home in the early days of this county having been known far and wide for its hospitality and the gathering place of many friends, even though they lived at remote distances in those days, She was the only child of the family. Her surviving children are Chas. J. Brubaker, of Chicago, and Cecil and Miss Carrie Brubaker of this county. Her cousins are Mrs. E. E. Richardson and Mrs. Joseph Nalle of Austin Texas and Mrs. Emma Thompson, of Effingham of Main Street Baptist church, Luray, for many years. The burial took place on Wednesday at eleven o'clock in the Keyser burial ground on the farm now owned by Raymond Strickler, the services being conducted by Rev. R. F. Staples. An extensive relationship will mourn the death of this highly esteemed.
