Lucretia lived in Sidney all of her life except for a few years in the town of Knox, southwest of Sidney. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1914. Lucretia married Lawrence Birkby on 25 Apr 1917. They had three children: Robert, Ruthella (Barnard) and Jack. For twenty-five years, Lucretia worked as a night telephone operator for Middle State Utilities. Lawrence died in 1978 at their home in Sidney at the age of 83 years.
