Lucretia, daughter of Lucy Hyde and Jabez Post, was born at Norwich on January 20, 1768. Her father, Jabez, was born at Norwich on August 5, 1730, son of Abigail Birchard and Nathaniel Post. He married (1) Martha Hyde, daughter of Jerusha Perkins and Rev Jedediah Hyde, and his third cousin, on August 12, 1756. Her father, Jabez, was born at Norwich on August 5, 1730, son of Abigail Birchard and Nathaniel Post. Jabez died in December 1775, when Lucretia was 8 years old, and her mother Lucy died July 9, 1810, in Norwich. (Hyde Genealogy, pp. 201–202.) Eliphalet Carew Jr and Miss Lucretia Post were married July 13, 1788.
