Description	:	Obituary Marshall (MI) Evening Chronicle Friday, February 25, 1938 Homer Cox Mrs. Lucy Janes Cox, 70, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elfa Smith in Battle Creek at 2:30 o'clock Thursday morning following a several months' illness. Lucy Bennett was born in Mayfield, O., July 18, 1867, the daughter of Joseph and Julia Bennett and spent the most of her life in Homer and vicinity. She was twice married, both husband, Henry Janes and William Cox preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter, where she died, three grandsons and two great grandchildren all of Battle Creek.... Funeral services will be held at 2:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Shaw funeral home in Battle Creek and burial will take place on the Janes lot in Fairview cemetery in Homer. Marshall (MI) Evening Chronicle Tuesday, March 1, 1938 Homer Funeral Services Burial services for Mrs. Lucy Janes Cox, 71, were held at Fairview cemetery Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Cox spent most of her life in Homer and vicinity, until recently, when she went to Battle Creek to reside with her daughter, Mrs. Elfa Smith, where she passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 24, following a lingering illness. After the funeral services, which were held at the Shaw Funeral Home in Battle Creek, the body was brought to Homer for burial. Accompanying the remains were Mrs. Elfa Smith and three sons and their families and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Henderson, all of Battle Creek, Mr. and Mrs. George Ogden of Milford, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Arby Ogden of Logansport, Ind., and Mrs. Andrew Bennett of South Bend, Ind. ~~~~~~~ Father: Joseph Bennett Mother: Julia Ann Sherman Siblings: Alnora, Andrew, Adelbert, 1.)
