Description	:	Lucy was the daughter of Rice Powe/Poe and Harriet Brown. She was the 4th of 8 children. Lucy Poe married Sgt. Thomas Lambert Lease on November 30, 1852 Buchanan County, St. Joseph Missouri. She and Thomas had 5 children. The first two, James and Ann Rebecca died young. Thomas Lambert Lease on November 30, 1852 Buchanan County, St. Joseph Missouri. She and Thomas had 5 children. The first two, James and Ann Rebecca died young. After Thomas died in 1864, Lucy stayed with her parents. She met and married Jacob Kinsey who declared in Thomas's war record that he was taking care of the Lease children. When Jacob died in 1892, Lucy lived in Montana with her daughter Neoma Elizabeth. She died in Olympia Washington. Her obit reads: Much sorrow was felt by the entire community Saturday when word was received of the sudden death of Mrs. Lucy Ann Kinsey, lovingly known as Grandma to all her friends. Though well past 83 years of age, Grandma had been well and hearty up to within a few days of the end, when she was stricken with bronchitis. Though she rallied and appeared better, the heart weakened she peacefully passed away at 5 o'clock November 26, bringing to a close one of the most beautiful Christian lives ever lived. At an early age she united with the Christian church and remained so to the end. Mrs. Kinsey was twice married her first husband and the father of the surviving children, being Thomas Lease, who was a member of Company I, Fourteenth Kansas volunteers, and who died in Fort Smith, Ark., during the Civil war. Many years later she was married to Jacob Kinsey and moved to Montana in the early eighties, where her second husband died about 10 years later. Mrs. Kinsey leaves here, besides her devoted daughter, Mrs. Naomi Crawford, with whom she has lived for 20 years, a granddaughter, Mrs. L. Anne Bush, and two little great-grandsons, Wilbur and Raymond Bush. The other children are T. B. Lease of Seattle and Mrs. H. Darby of Shelton. There are seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren to miss her love and advice. Funeral services were held from the Crawford home Sunday, at 12:30, Rev. H. S. Champie, pastor of the Christian Church of Olympia, reading the service. She was carried to her last resting place by those whom she loved best, her son, T. B. Lease, son-in-law, T. P. Crawford, there grandsons, I. M. Darby, M. E. Darby and Fred Lease of Seattle, and a grandson, D. C. Bush of this place. Name: Lucy A.
