Her works will follow in ways that cannot be overlooked;... Read More	Gloucester Point: Lucy D Hogge, 93, entered into her Heavenly home on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. She was a native of Gloucester and a longtime member of Union Baptist Church. Lucy was a true servant of God, faithfully serving her family and being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. She cooked for over 40 years at local Restaurants. She was known for her singing ministry with her guitar. She has finished her course. She has left a legacy of how to live by her words and actions. Her works will follow in ways that cannot be overlooked; her presence was an inspiration and her memory will remain in our hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Andrew J. Hogge, Sr.; parents, Luther W. and Beulah J. Deal; five sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Della H. Grinnell and husband, Reggie; son, Andrew J. Hogge, Jr. and wife, Barbara; grandchildren, Steve, Rick, Jonathan, Angela and Christel; 11 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Funeral service, officiated by Reverend Richard Whiteheart and grandson Reverend Steve Hogge, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Union Baptist Church, Achilles, Virginia. Interment will follow in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
