Description	:	Lucy Olson, 84, formerly of Webster City, died Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Simpson Health Center of Fort Dodge. Lucy Etta Light was born December 4, 1930, the daughter of Stanley and Nellie Welch Light in Amador City, CA. She was a 1948 graduate of Burro High School in Ridgecrest, CA. She married Dean Olson on August 15, 1948 in Ridgecrest, CA. While Dean attended Drake University, the couple lived in Des Moines. Lucy Etta Light was born December 4, 1930, the daughter of Stanley and Nellie Welch Light in Amador City, CA. She was a 1948 graduate of Burro High School in Ridgecrest, CA. She married Dean Olson on August 15, 1948 in Ridgecrest, CA. While Dean attended Drake University, the couple lived in Des Moines. After moving around Iowa, Lucy attended the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. Upon graduation in 1960, Lucy worked at the Iowa Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. The couple moved to Webster City in 1961 where they owned and operated Olson Pharmacy. Lucy managed the Olson Clinic Pharmacy for several years before becoming the pharmacist at Hamilton County Public Hospital until her retirement in 1994. The couple enjoyed wintering in Holiday Island, Ark. Dean preceded her in death on June 26, 2008. In October of 2009, Lucy moved to Fort Dodge. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; grandchild, Sara Motto; sisters, Katy Ausenick and Evelyn Guilliat. Lucy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and attended Grace Lutheran Church while wintering in Arkansas. She was a member of the Naomi Circle, Meals on Wheels, Webster City Women's Club, Drug Abuse Program, Iowa Pharmacy Association and a Girl Scout Leader. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Mike Kroona officiating. Burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery south of Kanawha. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church of Webster City or the Alzheimer's Association. Obituary & photo published by Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
