Description	:	1.) BARROWS. Lucy Hardy was born October 29, 1838, at Bradford, Essex county, Massachusetts. In early life, she became a convert to the faith of the Latter Day Saints and was among the pioneers of Utah. She was married to Ethan Barrows at Salt Lake City. They discovered the departure from the true faith, under the leadership of Brigham Young, and she and her husband were baptized into the Reorganized church July 24, 1881, at Salt Lake City, by Elder W. In early life, she became a convert to the faith of the Latter Day Saints and was among the pioneers of Utah. She was married to Ethan Barrows at Salt Lake City. They discovered the departure from the true faith, under the leadership of Brigham Young, and she and her husband were baptized into the Reorganized church July 24, 1881, at Salt Lake City, by Elder W. W. Blair. After the death of her husband, she made her home at Los Angeles, California, and of late has resided in Lamoni. A few months ago her health began failing, and early last April she was removed to the Independence, Missouri, sanitarium, where she died at 4:00 p. m., June 19, 1910, while her son, Charles H. Barrows was on his way to his mother's bedside. He is the only surviving child, two daughters dying in infancy. There is left to mourn, two brothers and one sister. The remains were brought to Lamoni on the Monday evening train, and the funeral services were from the residence of her son, June 21, at 2:30 p. m., in charge of Elders John Smith, prayer by Elder Columbus Scott and the sermon by Robt M. Elvin from 2 Timothy, 4: 7, 8. Prayer at the grave by Elder John Smith. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery. Thus a humble, meek, faithful follower of the Lamb of God hath gone to her rest and reward, and to await the time when the righteous shall be called forth to their inheritance in the resurrection of the just. She accepted the gospel early in life and was a pioneer in Utah, was married to Ethan Barrows at Salt Lake City when they both united with the Reorganization, being baptized by W. W. Blair July 24, 1881. Funeral at Lamoni, Iowa, June 21, in. charge of Pres. John Smith and sermon by Robert Elvin. One son, C. H. Barrows mourns the loss of a loving, kind mother. Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
