Description : On February 1, 1899, in the Cokesbury Church, Vance County, Lucy married Joseph Madison Stainback. Joseph and Lucy were second cousins once removed, by virtue of their common descent from John and Martha (Duke) Langford. Joseph and Lucy had four children: Myrtle Louise, Thomas Anderson, Maurice Joseph, and Joseph Madison. Both Joseph and Lucy were active in the Cokesbury Methodist Church, where they sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Lucy died in childbirth.
