Description	:	Lucy Snow King, my 3rd great, grandmother, was born in Pomfret, Vermont to Samuel & Betty (Bette) Perkins Snow. They settled in Pomfret after the Revolutionary War...coming from Massachusetts. Lucy married when she was very young (14) 23 Dec 1800 in Pomfret, Vermont to William King, who was 33, a cutler from Boston. They had one son, William King, Jr. 1803-1832 and seven daughters:: Emily 1805-1891, Lucy 1807-1853,Edna 1810-1888 (my 2nd g.grandmother),Eliza 1813-1882,Rebecca 1817-1879,Melissa 1823-1897 and Louisa 1824-1850. Lucy was pregnant with her last child, Louisa, when her husband suddenly died (probably of a heart attack). William died 3... Lucy was pregnant with her last child, Louisa, when her husband suddenly died (probably of a heart attack). William died 3 Jan. 1824 and Lousia was born the 21 Jan that same year. I do not know how Lucy managed all of that sorrow but she raised all of her children the best she could. No doubt about it, Lucy had a difficult life, losing her husband when she was only 38 years old. She never remarried. Her only son, William, died in 1832 in Pomfret (he left a will which named his mother and all the sisters and their spouses). In one of her letters to her daughter, Edna Farnsworth, Lucy indicated she had a desire to move to Ohio where my 2nd great, grandmother had settled with her husband, Oliver. The letter was written in 1846 and she died two years later. Lucy has a very large posterity that bless her name and are grateful for all that she endured in life. Bless her dear heart. There is no stone for Lucy or her husband, William, as yet. She is buried near her daughter,Eliza Paine, in a family plot at 471 Maple St. in the Cambridge City Cemetery. William is buried in the Copp's Hill Burial Ground (11 Charter St. side,from Death Certificate information) in Boston. Researched by Eleanor Law Johnson
