Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2000 at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Guilford County to the late Ezekiel B. and Mae Catherine Lawson Taylor. Born in Guilford County to the late Ezekiel B. and Mae Catherine Lawson Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezekiel Bernice and Mae Catherine Taylor, her husband, Fredrick Lawson, a son, Noel Franklin Lawson, a daughter Nona Gay Lawson Thigpen. four brothers, Willard, Troy, Charlie and Cazzie Taylor, two sisters, Annie Taylor Hampton and Hazel Taylor Bullins. Mrs. Lawson is survived by a son, Ted Travis Lawson and wife, Connie of Stokesdale, three brothers, David Taylor and wife Pernie of Summerville, Bobby Taylor and wife Nancy of Greensboro, Reverend Jacob Taylor and wife Mary of Summerfield, two sisters, Mary Lou Joyce of Reidsville and Becky Jane Ballard of Jacksonville, Florida. NINE (9) Grandchildren, FIFTEEN (15) Great Grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Mayodan Primitive Baptist Church. In later years, she was also a frequent visitor of The First Baptist Church in summerfield. She is remembered fondly as a former custodian of Laughlin School and a flower vendor at the Greensboro Farmer's Curb Market. Lucy was an extraordinary person; blessed with abundant love and a strong faith in God from which she never wavered. She possessed two qualities to the amazement of others; her talented green thumb and her indomitable spirit. She shared these gifts and talents with many friends and family members and through our love for her, they will be passed on to other generations to come. The family wishes to acknowledge the efforts of those who cared for her at Countryside Manor.
