Read More	Carroll Daily Herald, Carroll, Iowa - Thursday, March 2, 1933: Ludwig Henry Schroeder, son of Ludwig and Wilhelmina Schroeder, was born on a farm near Auburn, Ia., on July 24, 1872, and died suddenly at Council bluffs, Ia., on Feb. 23, 1933 at the age of 60 years. He was the oldest of ten children. His father died April 24, 1910 and on Dec. 21, 1925,his mother died. In early life he was confirmed and received as a member of the Lutheran church. On Dec. 4, 1913, he was united in marriage to Josie Holland, and to this union one daughter, Opal, was born. He lived on the Schroeder homestead, two and one-half miles southwest of Auburn for some years, later moving to Onawa, Ia., where he resided for a time. In 1924, he went to Council bluffs, where he has made his home. Mr. Schroeder has been in failing health for three years, a part of which time was spent in a Council Bluffs hospital. He leaves to mourn his daughter, Opal; also four sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Mae Buckles of Lake City, Mrs. Hattie Hucka, Mrs. Anna Orr, Paul and Otto Schroeder of Auburn, and Mrs. Gertrude Mullins of Paton, Ia. One brother, Charles, died Oct. 4, 1931, and two sisters died in infancy. The funeral services were held Saturday at 2 o'clock from the Presbyterian church with Rev. J. E. Spencer officiating. A choir, Mrs. Ed. Thompson, Mrs. Leland Hanks, Nile Shannon and Floyd Impson, with Mrs. C. C. Basler at the piano sang, "Going down the Valley," "In the Garden" and "No Disappointment In Heaven." The pall bearers were J. H. Jensen, Ray Hungate, Hylie Kent, Fred Williams, Ralph and Leon Winkler. Interment was made in Oak Lawn cemetery beside the father and mother.
