Description	:	Luella Fechner 1920-2006 Luella E. Fechner, 85, of Miller, S.D., died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006 at Prairie Good Samaritan Center in Miller. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller with the Rev. George Wieland presiding. Burial will be at a later date in the G.A.R. Cemetery, directed by Reck Funeral Home, Miller. Casketbearers were Chad, Adam, Koby and Brett Fechner, Tom Wiand, Anthoni Johnson, Josh Cosens and Kory Bowar. Honorary casketbearers were all of Luella's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Luella Elizabeth was born August 25, 1920, to Nathan and Edna (Gall) Max at Scotland, S.D. She married Edwin Fechner of Harrold on June 15, 1937 in Highmore. They farmed in Holden Township in Hand County until 1963, at which time they moved to Miller. Luella was a homemaker, worked at Miller Rexall Drug and babysat in her home after retirement. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller. Survivors include five sons, Lauren (Cheryle) Fechner of Andover, Minn., Dennis (Brigette) Fechner of Sioux Falls, Jerry Fechner of Egan, Minn., Jim (Jo) Fechner of Anoka, Minn., and Chuck (Nancy) Fechner of Renner; a son-in-law, Roger Engelcke of Miller; three daughters, Carolyn (Dutch) Wiand of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Deb (Dan) Bowar of Faulkton, and Peggy (Rich) Nickerson of Pierre; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mickey Nemnick of Long Beach, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed Fechner; a daughter, Lavonne Engelcke; an infant son, Ricky; two grandchildren; two brothers and one sister.
