Mrs. Crep's death occurred last Saturday evening at 8:30 at the age of 71 in the home of her son, Cecil, in Hartwick. She suffered a severe stroke November 5 and due to her other infirmities she was unable to recover. Although bedfast the last weeks, she retained her happy spirit as long as she was conscious. Luella Creps, oldest daughter of Thomas J. and Laura A. Gauley, was born Sept. 22, 1873 on a farm south of Brooklyn. At the age of sixteen she moved with her parents to Brooklyn. On Dec. 19, 1894 she married Frank N. Creps and the couple moved to a farm south of Brooklyn. Following Mr. Creps' death eleven months ago, Mrs. Creps has made her home with her son in Hartwick. Mrs. Creps was a member of the Methodist church and joined the Presbyterian church with her husband soon after their marriage. She is survived by two sons, C. Cecil Creps of Hartwick and H. Raymond Creps of Brooklyn; a brother, Elmer E. Gauley and a sister, Mrs. Elmer Thornton, both of Puyallup, Washington; another sister, Verna M. Miller of Cedar Falls; also six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two sisters.
