Read More	Mrs. Luella Fletcher Is Taken By Death, Funeral Here Tuesday Creighton friends of Mrs. Luella Fletcher, former resident of this city, were grieved the first of the week when news of her demise at Lincoln reached here. Though she had been ill for a considerable time, having suffered a paralytic stroke several weeks ago, her condition, until just previous to her passing, when she suffered a second one, had not been considered critical. She passed away last Friday morning, October 27, at two o'clock. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church here Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. Paul Riggs of Orchard, assisted by the local pastor, Rev. R.B.E. Hill, in charge, the male quartet witch sang at the church services was composed of Jesse Withee, Frank Clifton, Vernon McNabb and A.B. Ritchie, all of Orchard. Mrs. Ritchie was at the piano. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery. Luella Independence Helm, her middle name coinciding with her birthday, was born July 4, 1855, near Muscatine, Ia., and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.W. Nye, at Lincoln, at the age of 78 years, three months and twenty three days. She was married April 25, 1881 to Benjamin Allen Fletcher, at Kingsley, Ia. In 1888 they moved to Omaha and from there they went to Bloomfield, where they resided until 1901, when they moved onto a farm west of Creighton. They lived there a number of years, then retired and moved to Creighton, where they made their home until Mr. Fletcher's death. She stayed with her daughter, Mrs. Nye, at Lincoln, in later years, and was cared for there during her last illness. Mrs. Fletcher was an active member of the Methodist church practically all her life and her daily life exemplified her Christian spirit. She taught a Sunday School class in the church here for a period of ten years. Besides a host of friends left to mourn her passing, there are five sons, Frank of Omaha, R.O, whereabouts, unknown, Samuel of DeNova, Co., George of Orchard and William of Hyattville, Wyo.; two daughters, Mrs. Glenna Nye of Lincoln and Mrs. Louisa Gentzler of York, a brother, Wesley Helm of Chateau, Mont.; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Storms of Lone Tree, Ia., Mrs. Mollie Dempster of Des Moines and Mrs. Lillie Hulce of Pasadena, Calif.; twenty two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Two children, Bessie and Johnny preceded their mother in death. The news joins in extending condolences to those who mourn the loss of a loved one.
