Services were Monday 2 P.M. at Frist St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings with the Rev. Harold Stromer officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Trumbull. Visitation was at Brand-Wilson Funeral Home in Hastings. Mrs. Varah was born Jan. 9, 1925, to Henry and Fannie (Janssen) Gartner in Glenvi. Since 1963 she owned and operated Luella's Ceramics near Doniphan. She was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Third City Ceramic Association. Survivors are her husband; three daughters, Loretta Broberg of Sioux City, Iowa, and Connie Hoagland and Bonnie Will, both of Hastings; one son Tim of Grand Island; four brothers, Elmer of Hansen, Harold of Ayr, Everet of Manitour Springs, Colo., and Donald of Giltner; 10 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda; two sisters; and four brothers.
