Description	:	Luella Marie Heinse was born April 22, 1923, at Salix, Iowa, the daughter of Hans and Anna (Heindick) Hansen. She attended country school at Miller Center School #8. On September 23, 1941, she was united in marriage to Bert Heinse in Dakota City, Nebraska. To this union, two children were born, Keith and Peggy. The family lived and farmed in the Danbury, Iowa, area until 1960, when they retired from farming and moved to Anthon, Iowa. Read More	Luella Marie Heinse was born April 22, 1923, at Salix, Iowa, the daughter of Hans and Anna (Heindick) Hansen. She attended country school at Miller Center School #8. On September 23, 1941, she was united in marriage to Bert Heinse in Dakota City, Nebraska. To this union, two children were born, Keith and Peggy. The family lived and farmed in the Danbury, Iowa, area until 1960, when they retired from farming and moved to Anthon, Iowa. While living there, Luella did housekeeping, worked at the Gothier Mink Ranch and cleaned at the Little Siouxloon. Bert passed away January 11, 1994. Luella enjoyed fishing, sewing and gardening as well as baking and cooking. It was understood that family members were expected to be at her table every Sunday noon for her home-cooked meal, and "Don't be late." She loved her pet cats, especially her beloved feline "Lucky." Some of her most cherished time was that spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When Luella was in her 80's, she made the decision to take instruction from Rev. Terry Roder and become a confirmed member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon, an accomplishment she was quite proud to have achieved. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Harrison F. Pedersen Unit #291 of Pierson, Iowa. Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Pedersen of Anthon; three grandsons, Jesse Pedersen and his wife, Tara, and their children, Cade, Kyle and Jake; Kirk Heinse; and Justin Dunnington and his wife, Jenny and their children, Collin, Jersey and Keigan; two sisters, Betty (Mrs. Gene) Barth and Grace Fouts; one brother, Clifford Hansen and his wife, Bobbie; a sister-in-law, Nancy Hansen of Louisiana.; an "adopted" son, Curt White; and two special neighbors, Sheila Lansink and Cindy Harlow; along with many good friends; and her cat, "Summer," who now rules the roost. Along with her husband, Luella was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Keith Heinse; a grandson, Keith Michael Heinse; two infant grandsons; one son-in-law, Larry Pedersen; a sister, Helen Hartz; two brothers, Robert and Jack Hansen; and two brothers-in-law, Carl Hartz and Loyce Fouts. Services were held January 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon with Rev. Terry Roder officiating. Pallbearers included Cory Edwards, Terry and Bart Petersen, Chris Jacobson, Max Dunnington and Doug Thompson. Burial followed the services at Oak Hil Cemetery, Anthon, Iowa.
