D. and Lora Luella Albright Kennedy, was born in Pottawattame County, Iowa on Octuober 11, 1889 and died at the Chase County Hospital in Imperial, Nebraska, on Friday, January 23, 1981 at the age of 91 years, three months, and 12 days. She received her early education in rural Iowa and when a teenager she joined a Presbyterian Church there. Surber, the oldest daughter of N. D. and Lora Luella Albright Kennedy, was born in Pottawattame County, Iowa on Octuober 11, 1889 and died at the Chase County Hospital in Imperial, Nebraska, on Friday, January 23, 1981 at the age of 91 years, three months, and 12 days. She received her early education in rural Iowa and when a teenager she joined a Presbyterian Church there. On April 26, 1911 Maude was united in marriage to Ray Surber in Council Bluffs, Iowa and to this union eight children were born. The Surbers farmed in Iowa until 1920 when the family decided to move to Chase County, Nebraska where they continued their farming career. Maude lived on the farm until six years ago when she moved to the Imperial Manor in Imperial. Maude was a member of the Clover Leaf Club and a member of the Chase County Community Club. A love wife and mother, she was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need which earned the well respected love of everyone who knew her. Maude was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband, Ray, and infant daughter, Mary Eilene; two brothers and three sisters; sons-in-law, Cecil Rhoades, Clayton Meyer and Perry Baldwin. Others include: a grandson-in-law, Roger Redden and granddaughter-in-law, Judy Jaeger. Maude is survivied by her seven children: Eva Baldwin, Howard and his wife Norma, Iva Mae Meyer, and Muriel Jaeger and her husband Robert, all of Imperial, Luella Rhoads of Denver, Color.; Clara Severin and her husband, Gene of Los Alamitos, Calif; Mildred Stinnette and her husband, Murville of Pasco, Wash.; two sisters, Beulah Emerson of Palmetto, Fla.; Gladys Kohen of Panpeno Beach, Fla.; one brother, Gilbert Kennedy of Griswold, Ia.; 18 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a host of many friends. Services were held Jan. 26 at the United Methodist Church of Imperial with Rev. Robert Call officiating; Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Bauerle with Oneta Silvester as accompanist. Escorts were the grandsons. Interment was at Mount Hope Cemetery of Imperial with Creveling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
