In 1880, Louisa was a school girl living with her birth family in Choteau, Madison, Illinois. Marriage and Family William Franke (b Jan 1863, Illinois per 1900 census) and Luiza Linke were married on April 21, 1892 in Washington County, Nebraska ~ Washington County Deed Books; Book 5, Page 76 In the year 1900, William and Louisa made their home in Grant Township, Washington, Nebraska. The Franke's had two sons, George (Jun 1893, Nebraska) and Edward (Jul 1895, Nebraska). William passed away in 1907, and by 1910, Louisa and her young son, Edward had relocated to Burton Bend, Furnas, Nebraska where just the two of them shared a home. By 1920, Louisa had purchased a home in Arapahoe, Furnas, Nebraska. She and her now 24 year old son, Edward, shared this residence with her eldest son, George, and George's wife, Eva (age 25, NE). In 1940, Louise was living in Holdrege Township, Phelps, Nebraska where she has lived for at least the past 5 years. Ever present by her side is Edward, who never married. After a lifetime spent with his mother, he will leave her side upon his death in July of 1942. One can only imagine what may have been going on in Louisa's mind and heart after his passing. After together weathering the tragic death of William so many years earlier, and of the lifetime of memories, of good times and bad, that the two of them undoubtedly shared in the subsequent 35 years, perhaps Edward's death was more than Louisa could bear. Whatever the reason, she followed Edward less than two years later in 1944 at the age of 66. Louisa never remarried. ****************************************************** Unmarked Burial - The family plot was last surveyed in August of 2013 by Mr B (#47821438) and Mrs B (#47910340).
