The things you bore were almost beyond The human endurance of any man. And yet, You were always so loving, so cheerful and gay, Always so pretty and you had a way Of cheering the rest of us up by baking A cookie, or fixing something good for snacking. But most of all, I remember well The wonderful way that you could tell Of our Heavenly Father and His wonderful ways. You were always proud to sing His praise. You were always so wonderful and dear to me, And I know that you will always be The very top in my estimation, A wonderful Sister whose destination Could be no where else but with our Savior, May the Lord bless Lula, Our dear wonderful Sister. Lula Annie Jenson was born in Francis, Utah, 9 March 1911, the fifth child of Swen Albert and Dorothy Jorgenson Jenson. She was a lovely little blonde girl with blue eyes and always a lovely complexion. Lula hated to do outside work, and I think she got teased and scolded a lot about this. Her sisters, Pete and Pat would laugh at her about doing outside chores and Dad would call Lula a "grouch". She loved working in the house, baking, cleaning, and scrubbing, so she used to trade us for her outside jobs and do the inside ones for us. It was about the time she graduated from high school that she met the tall good-looking boy of her dreams, Clinton Mortenson. They were married May 11, 1932, at Cardston, Alberta, Canada. Their first child, Morley, was born April 30, 1933, and their second son, Danny Errol, was born Nov. 2,1936. Little Bert was born 30 August 1939 while they were living in Moise, MT. Lula had a little girl who was born 5 Nov 1943 and died in Sheridan, MT. They named her Freda Louise. Lula had severe arthritis most of her life and was always frail, but she loved family gatherings. No matter how bad she felt or how sick she was, she always had hopes and faith in a brighter and better tomorrow. She and Clint divorced 17 May 1948. Lula passed away 24 Jun 1951 while living with her parents in Bynum, MT.
