She was born Aug. 6, 1906, at Waterville, to John and Anna (Tetherow) Weir. She attended country schools at Leahy and Bridgeport. She moved to the Lake Chelan are, then lived on a ranch at Washington Creek for 30 years. She was seasonally employed with Trout, Inc., until her retirement. She was a member of Chelan Eagles Auxiliary No. 2218 and the Royal Neighbors.
