Description	:	Lula Mildred Ogle Allen, 82, of Max Meadows, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010. She was born August 9, 1928 to the late Elbert and Lula Sumner Ogle, the youngest of eight children who preceded her in death, and a lifelong resident of Wythe County. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard T. Allen, whom she married on December 28, 1952. She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law Douglas and Janice Allen of Elliston; Lee Allen of Max Meadows and Dennis Ray Allen of Austinville; daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Joe Shannon of Denton, N.C. and Joyce... She was born August 9, 1928 to the late Elbert and Lula Sumner Ogle, the youngest of eight children who preceded her in death, and a lifelong resident of Wythe County. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard T. Allen, whom she married on December 28, 1952. She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law Douglas and Janice Allen of Elliston; Lee Allen of Max Meadows and Dennis Ray Allen of Austinville; daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Joe Shannon of Denton, N.C. and Joyce and Ron Wooldridge of Oxford, Miss.; grandchildren Shane Allen, Tonya Shannon, Travis Shannon, Susan Allen, Jessica Wooldridge, Ronald Wooldridge, Allison Allen and Marshall Wooldridge; great-grandchildren Bayleigh Allen, Sophie Shannon and Xander Moses. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 at the Fort Chiswell Church of God with Rev. Kenneth Quesenberry and Rev. Travis Shannon officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Carroll County. The family received friends at the Reese Funeral Home Friday evening. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville was in charge of arrangements.
