Description	:	Lula Nora Reed was born in Ohio in 1873 to William Reed and wife, Mary Jane Metlin. Her father was a physician, and when she was less than seven years old the family relocated to Ellsworth County, Kansas, where he practiced medicine. Lula and five of her brothers and sisters remained single well into their adult years. After their parents both died between 1895 and 1900, the six siblings continued to share living quarters. Read More	Lula Nora Reed was born in Ohio in 1873 to William Reed and wife, Mary Jane Metlin. Her father was a physician, and when she was less than seven years old the family relocated to Ellsworth County, Kansas, where he practiced medicine. Lula and five of her brothers and sisters remained single well into their adult years. After their parents both died between 1895 and 1900, the six siblings continued to share living quarters. In 1925 at age 48 Lula married John Dennis Colson, son of Charles Colson from Sweden and Elvina Sweatt, daughter of Captain John Dennis Sweatt and wife, Louisa Maria Simpon, who had migrated from Tennessee to Missouri about 1850. John Colson worked for Union Pacific Railroad. He had been married for many years and had several children with his first wife, who divorced him around 1917. After John Colson retired from the railroad, he and Lula remained in Ellsworth County, and he went to work in a public government job. Lula lived only 8 years after marrying John Colson. She died in 1933 and was buried in Buckeye Cemetery near Kanopolis, Ellsworth County, Kansas.
