Glaspey Colvin in Potlatch, Idaho, the fourth of seven children. She attended the Rock Creek Country School near Potlatch. Lou married William Ralph Bidle Nov. 17, 1939, at Lewiston. The couple lived in several places in Whitman and Okanogan counties, where her husband worked for the railroad and in road construction. Her husband died June 2, 1947. In 1947, Lou moved to Palouse, where she made her home until 2001 when she moved to Clarke House Assisted Living Center in Moscow. She moved to Avalon Care Center in Pullman in September 2003. Lou was a homemaker for several years and worked as a housekeeper at Washington State University in Pullman for 17 years. She worked at several halls, including Sweet, Rogers, Duncan-Dunn, Goldsworthy and McCroske y halls. She was a member of the Palouse Federated Church and a former member of the Gang of Gals at Palouse. When she retired, she kept busy with her garden, flowers and yard. Her hobbies were several. She made quilts for each of her six grandchildren and loved to play the piano. She loved to listen to western music and sing. She took up oil painting and did several pictures, mostly of flowers. Survivors include two children, Bonita Headrick and husband Rod of Moscow and Ronald Bidle of Palouse; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. One sister-in-law, Mae Colvin of Potlatch also survives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; four brothers, Lester, Marchant, Otis and Leroy Colvin; and by two sisters, Lizett Beplate and Velda Phelps.
