Born Nov 29, 1912 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Albert and Sarah Julia Wine Brant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Beckley David "Bassy" Harsh, on May 28, 2001. She was a 1930 graduate of Williamsport High School. She was a hairdresser, and was the first owner of the Looking Glass Beauty Shop in Williamsport. Read More	LULA RUTH "LOU" HARSH, 101, of Williamsport, passed away Saturday, Nov 30, 2013, at her home. Born Nov 29, 1912 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Albert and Sarah Julia Wine Brant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Beckley David "Bassy" Harsh, on May 28, 2001. She was a 1930 graduate of Williamsport High School. She was a hairdresser, and was the first owner of the Looking Glass Beauty Shop in Williamsport. She was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church. She was very active in the church serving as a past board of trustees member, charter member of the adult fellowship Sunday School class, Sunday School teacher for 41 years, Sunday School superintendent for five years, choir member, choir director for 14 years, lay reader, and a member of the administrative board. She was a charter member and past president of the Potomac Garden Club, past president of Williamsport Homemakers Club, past member of the Washington County Historical Society, National C&O Canal Association, Williamsport Ambulance Service, and Williamsport Museum Committee. She is survived by nephews, Richard Beckley and wife, Karen, Lewisberry, Pa; Mike Beckley and wife, LaRue, Middletown, Md; Douglas Harsh of Florida; nieces, Yvonne Williams and husband, Edgar, New Market, Md; and Kay Settles of Florida; and special friends, Mary Ann and Tom Allen, Dotty Kline and Vangie Osborne. She was preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Irene Beckley. Services Wednesday, Dec 4, 2013, at 2 pm at Williamsport United Methodist Church, with the Rev Susan Boehl officiating. Interment will be in River View Cemetery, Williamsport. * Herald Mail, Hagerstown, Maryland November 2013 * Bassy and Lou were married July 9, 1937 at the Methodist Church in Williamsport, Md.
