Description	:	Relatives and friends here were saddened the first of the week when word came that Mrs. Fred Atwater had passed away at her home in Greeley. Lulu Belle Maxwell was born at Coin, Ia., August 11, 1884, the daughter of W. C. and Miriam Maxwell, and died August 2, 1943, at the age of 58 years, 11 months and 22 days. She came with her parents to Saunders county in 1889 and in 1905 they came to Boone county. She was united in marriage to W. M. Atwater of Albion on November 26, 1908. In 1909 she became... Read More	Relatives and friends here were saddened the first of the week when word came that Mrs. Fred Atwater had passed away at her home in Greeley. Lulu Belle Maxwell was born at Coin, Ia., August 11, 1884, the daughter of W. C. and Miriam Maxwell, and died August 2, 1943, at the age of 58 years, 11 months and 22 days. She came with her parents to Saunders county in 1889 and in 1905 they came to Boone county. She was united in marriage to W. M. Atwater of Albion on November 26, 1908. In 1909 she became a member of the Christian church at Albion where she still holds her membership. In 1921 she and her husband moved to Greeley county where they resided at the time of her death. Surviving her are her husband and one son, Frank, who is a corporal in the armed forces serving in the Solomon Islands; one grandson and several nieces and nephews. She leaves also a half-brother, Carrol Maxwell of Denver and her step-mother, Mrs. Irene Maxwell of Albion. Mrs. Atwater was the last surviving member of her parent’s family. Her father and mother and her brother, Glenn, having preceded her in death. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at Greeley on Wednesday, August 4, with burial in Rose Hill cemetery in Albion. Those attending the funeral from away were: Mrs. Truman Gross, Elba; Mrs. Kenneth Gillett and Mrs. Edna Gillett, Elwood; Mrs. Ethel Davis, Omaha; Mrs. Emma Brown, Kearney; Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Maxwell and Mrs. Audra Maxwell, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Atwater, Mr. and Mrs. F I. Houtz and James, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Mattison, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mattison, Mrs. Harold Clipston, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Atwater, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Atwater, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Trosper and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Quiter, all of Albion; and Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Stevenson and family of Cedar Rapids.
