Description	:	Lulu Wren Turner, 95, of Mount Pleasant died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant. Born Oct. 10, 1916, in Winfield, she was the daughter of John Wesley and Edith Lane Allender. On March 20, 1946, she married Paul Raymond Turner in Mount Pleasant. He died Nov. 13, 1992. Mrs. Turner worked briefly on the shell assembly line at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. From 1964 to 1980, she worked in the laundry department at Mount Pleasant Mental Health Institution, and from 1986 to 1993, in the laundry department of Henry County Health Center. She grew up... Born Oct. 10, 1916, in Winfield, she was the daughter of John Wesley and Edith Lane Allender. On March 20, 1946, she married Paul Raymond Turner in Mount Pleasant. He died Nov. 13, 1992. Mrs. Turner worked briefly on the shell assembly line at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. From 1964 to 1980, she worked in the laundry department at Mount Pleasant Mental Health Institution, and from 1986 to 1993, in the laundry department of Henry County Health Center. She grew up in rural Trenton, where she attended a country school southeast of Trenton and graduated from the school in a ceremony at Iowa Wesleyan Chapel Auditorium. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women and Women of the Moose. In her younger years, she loved to dance. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Canasta, and was a follower and participant in the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes. Survivors include three sons, Darrell Turner and Ronald Turner, both of Mount Pleasant and Michael Turner of Aurora, Colo.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Burial in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
