Burgner in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. His nearest relative is Elizabeth Freeze, of the same address. He was tall in height, medium in build, with gray eyes and dark hair. Obituary for Luther M. Freeze from the Frederick News, Monday, February 9, 1942: "Luther M. Freeze, formerly of Thurmont, died Saturday Evening at Pinecrest Nursing Home at Catonsville, where he was a patient for three weeks, aged 69 years. He was a son of the late Josiah and Amanda Damuth Freeze, of Thurmont. He is survived by four children, Lloyd, of Frederick; George, of Washington; Mrs. Helen Rodgers, Baltimore, and Mrs. Mary Rosensteel, Emmitsburg; a sister, Mrs. Orpha Gigeous, Thurmont; a brother, Wilbur, Hagerstown, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Freeze was a member of the Lutheran Church in Martinsburg, West Virginia. The body is at the funeral home in Thurmont, where services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. Rev. Warren K. Damuth will officiate. Interment in the United Brethren Cemetery. M. L. Creager and Son, funeral directors." Funeral notice for Luther M. Freeze, who died on Saturday evening at Pinecrest Nursing Home, Catonsville was held on Tuesday with services at the funeral home in Thurmont at 3 o'clock conducted by Rev. Warren K. Damuth. Pallbearers were James H. Firor, Samuel Bennett, John Whitmore, Warner T. Grimes, Earl Gigeous, Richard Rodgers. Interment at U. B. Cemetery, M. L. Creager and Son, funeral directors." From a letter written to me by Margaret Fogle, May 14, 1980: "Luther Freeze, brother of Orpha Gigeous, married Key Martin. Their children were: Mary, a talented organist, who married 'Chic' Rosensteel in Emmitsburg, Lloyd, who married Jeanette Nicodemus, and Helen, who married Jay O. Rodgers. When their mother, Key, died, Mary lived with Joe Weddle and Lloyd lived with Sam Long."
