Landrum, SC May 11 1936 - Funeral Services were held this afternoon for LUTHER RILEY FISHER, 81, who died Sunday after being in declining health for six months, at the home of a son, HENRY FISHER, at Rutherfordton, NC. The Rev. M. M. HUNTLEY, pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rutherford County, NC, officiated. Interment was in the Landrum Cemetery by the side of Mr. FISHER's wife, who died seven years ago. Mr.FISHER was born and reared in upper Greenville County, and until six years ago when he went to live with his son in Rutherford County, NC, was a prominent farmer of the Lone Oak Section. Survivors are four sons: ROBERT FISHER, Landrum, Route 1; JOHN FISHER, Tryon; HENRY FISHER, Rutherfordton, NC; MACK FISHER, Chesnee, Route 1; and two daughters, Mrs. SMILIE BELUE, Landrum, and Mrs. FRANK CAMPBELL, Union. A number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
