Description	:	Hillyer - Miss Lydia A. Campbell was born in Courtland county, New York, Feb. 23, 1840. She moved with her family to Dixon, Illinois and later to Whiteside county in the same state. Here she was married to David Hillyer March 14,1860. To them were born five children, three of whom are still living: Mrs. Florence Patterson, of Gower, Mo., Alfred A. Hillyer and Mrs. Maude Watson, of Hiawatha. Mrs. Hillyer became a Christian in early life and was an honored member of the Methodist Episcopal church at the time of her death. She moved with her family to Dixon, Illinois and later to Whiteside county in the same state. Here she was married to David Hillyer March 14,1860. To them were born five children, three of whom are still living: Mrs. Florence Patterson, of Gower, Mo., Alfred A. Hillyer and Mrs. Maude Watson, of Hiawatha. Mrs. Hillyer became a Christian in early life and was an honored member of the Methodist Episcopal church at the time of her death. She had gone to visit her daughter, Mrs, Patterson, in Gower, Mo where, after a brief illness she died October 10, 1906. The following sisters and brothers survive her: Mrs. Diana Warne, of Dixon, Illinois; Mrs. Melissica Bowman, Siloam Springs, Ark.; Mrs. Lucina Wilcox, St. Joseph, Mo.; Mrs. Sally Seely, Syracuse, N. Y.; Mrs. Alyium Hedglin, Minco, I. T [Minco, Oklahoma. I.T abbreviation for Indian Territory]; Alfred H. Campbell, Siloam Springs, Ark. The funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Episcopal church, Rev. J. W. Scott, officiating. Published in the Brown County World, Hiawatha, Kansas on Friday, October 19, 1906, Page 16 In 1861 occurred the marriage of Mr. Hillyer and Miss LYDIA A. CAMPBELL, who was born in Cortland county, New York, February 23, 1840, a daughter of Alanson and Mary (Benjamin) Campbell, of New York. The father was a cabinetmaker and with his family removed to Illinois, locating in Dixon, where he was employed in a factory. Later he resided at Lyndon, Whiteside county, and in 1871 he came to Kansas, establishing his home at White Cloud, where his wife died in 1871. In 1873 he returned to Illinois and died in Dixon in 1878. He was a consistent member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church. His children were Mrs. Diana Warren, of Dixon; Alfred B., also of Dixon; Lydia A.; Mrs. Melissa Bowman; Alvina, wife of H. Hedglon; Lucina, wife of C. Wilcox; and Sally, wife of D. Sealy.
