After an illness of practically two years, Mrs. Lydia A. Baker Harris died at 2 o’clock yesterday morning at her home near Twelfth and Zane avenues, Chico Vecino. She was sixty-three years old. The funeral will be held from the family residence at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon, Rev. H.E. Eaton on the Pentecostalist church officiating. Deceased is survived by her widower, E.E. Harris; two sons, B.B. Harris of New York City and P.B. Harris of Los Angeles, both civil engineers; two brothers and one sister, J.W. Baker of Fenton, La., F.M. Baker of Viroqua, Wis., and Dr. Hester J. Baker of Quincy, Ill. Mrs. Harris was born in Nelsonville, O., January 16, 1852. In 1856 she went with her parents to Wisconsin, where she married E.E. Harris in 1874. In the spring of 1907, she and her husband came to Plumas county, California, where the later was superintendent of the mill of the Red River Lumber Company. In the fall of the same year, because of Mrs. Harris’ health, they moved to Chico. For four years they made their home on a ranch in Stanley park, after which they moved to Chico Vecino. During her residence here Mrs. Harris made many warm friends who mourn her death. ~~~ 63-year-old Lydia A. Baker Harris was interred, per the Chico Cemetery Association Records, in the plot noted, on February 24, 1915.
