Utterback Lydia Anne Lash was born in Benton county, Iowa, Nov. 30, 1862. She died at Geuda Springs, Kans., Oct. 7, 1927, at the age of 69 years and 10 months. She was united in marriage to Charles Lee Utterback at Clinton, Iowa, June 10, 1880. To this union four children were born. They are Mrs. Arthur Miller, Lead, S.D., C.L. Utterback, Lead, S.D., Mrs. Arthur Edinfield, Geuda Springs, Kans., and Benson Utterback of Geuda. Mrs. Utterback was a member of the M.E. Church at Geuda Springs. Her husband died Feb. 10, 1894. Besides the children she is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Amanda Coleman of Huntsdale, Mo., Mrs. Adeline Porter, Longton, Kans., and Mrs. Sarah Leach, Wichita, Kans. The Rev. Carol D. Walker of Arkansas City, officiated at the memorial services for her, held in the M.E. church in Geuda Springs Monday afternoon, Oct. 10. (transcribed by Judy Mayfield)
