Mrs. Lydia Love Lydia Arnold was born January 22, 1830 in Cicerotown, Indiana, and lived in that vicinity until 1850 where she was united in marriage to John B. Love. In 1855 they came to Iowa where they lived until 1864, when she returned to her native state to await the close of the War and the return of her husband who had enlisted in the 1st Iowa Cavalry. Obituary. Mrs. Lydia Love Lydia Arnold was born January 22, 1830 in Cicerotown, Indiana, and lived in that vicinity until 1850 where she was united in marriage to John B. Love. In 1855 they came to Iowa where they lived until 1864, when she returned to her native state to await the close of the War and the return of her husband who had enlisted in the 1st Iowa Cavalry. In 1869 they returned to Iowa, settling in the vicinity of their first Iowa home near Martinsburg. Later thely moved to Polk and Story Counties, and in the year 1887 to Sigourney, where she remained until death, which occured Dec. 12, 1915. Mrs. Love was the mother of eight children, three of the daughters have preceded her to the great beyond. So far as is known the four sons are all living, three of whom reside in Iowa, the other in New Mexico. She was converted at an early age and united with the Baptist church. Later she united with the Christian church but a short time before the death of her husband, which occurred in 1901, she again united with the Baptist church of which she remained a member until death. For several years, Mrs. Love was practically an invalid. She made her home for many years with Mr. H.K. Pennell. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:00 pm at the Baptist Church. Rev. A. R. Struble preaching the sermon. Interment was made in West Cemetery, Sigourney. John and Lydia Love's children as follows 1. Mary E. Love abt 1849 2. William L.
