Description	:	7 February 1918 - West Branch Times Lydia Fawcett was born in Belmont county, Ohio, seventh month, fifteenth, 1825. She departed this life, second month, third, 1918, aged 91 years, 6 months and 18 days. She lived in Belmont county until she was fourteen years of age and moved from there to Morgan county, Ohio. Read More	7 February 1918 - West Branch Times Lydia Fawcett was born in Belmont county, Ohio, seventh month, fifteenth, 1825. She departed this life, second month, third, 1918, aged 91 years, 6 months and 18 days. She lived in Belmont county until she was fourteen years of age and moved from there to Morgan county, Ohio. In 1844 she was united in marriage to Amos Roman. He lived a little over two years. To this union was born one daughter, Mary. She was again united in marriage to Aaron Roberts tenth month, thirteenth, 1856, and to this union were born four children, only two of whom are living, Amos Roberts of Stone City, Ia., and Rachel J. Hadley of this place. There is also a stepdaughter, Lizzie R. Smith, of Chesterhill, Ohio, the other two children dying in infancy. In the spring of 1864, she with her husband and four children and their stepdaughter, moved to Cedar county, Iowa, settling on a farm near Centerdale, here they endured many of the hardships of the early settlers. In a few weeks after their daughters died, one after another, then another daughter passed away the twentieth of second month, 1886. The husband passed away in 1888, but the wife remained on the farm with her son until eight years ago, when she came to live with her daughter near West Branch. She has been almost totally blind for twelve years and not able to leave her bed without assistance for about four years, which affliction she bore with great fortitude and patience. She has been a lifelong member of the Society of Friends, which faith she kept until death. She has been gathered as a sheaf of wheat, full, ripe, into the eternal harvest. The funeral service was held in the E. J. Hadley home on Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock under the care of the Friends with whom she worshiped as long as health permitted. It was largely attended. The burial was at Honey Grove.
