Description	:	On Sunday morning last Mrs Lydia Lynn of south Montezuma passed away. She had been a great suffer from cancer. The funeral services were held at her late residence on Monday afternoon at 2 O'clock conducted by Rev U S Smith who preached from the 18th chapter of Hebrews, the 5th verse "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee". She was laid to rest in the Montezuma Cemetery. She was married to James W Lynn May 12, 1857 at Hillsboro, Highland County, Ohio. At the close of the war, with the family, came to Iowa and have since then lived to and around Montezuma. To them were born eight children, 4 sons and 4 daughters. Three sons and one daughter have passed over leaving one son and three daughters with the father to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and mother. Mrs Lynn was converted and united with the M E Church during the pastorate of Rev W G Thorn. Info taken from obit in the Weekly Republican posted on April 20, 1905.
